Victoria Young Jamieson

Victoria Young Jamieson is based between Bristol and Cornwall, UK.

Her abstracted, multi-layered studies in oil, acrylic and watercolour are evocative of the vibrant land and seascapes which inspire her. Young Jamieson’s bold canvases and works on paper recount explorations around the rugged coast of Cornwall, the rolling moorlands of Scotland and the hot deserts of the USA. Travel plays a key role in Young Jamieson’s practice and her art work is a visual journal of these experiences.

Victoria credits her upbringing in Cornwall as her founding inspiration towards her work. Influenced by the county’s unique light and the way it affects the surrounding environment, Victoria's work captures a truly original approach with regards to natural landscape art.  By working with a wide range of media that include wax, resin as well as glue, she allows for the fluid nature of these materials to work of their own accord, in this way imitating the shifting and dramatic seasons of the Cornish coastline.

She has exhibited internationally with a series of shows planned for 2018 in New York, London and Cheltenham, UK. Her work is featured in a number of prominent art collections and private homes around the world.
