Swedish designer Ulla-Stina Wikander graduated in 1986 from Hovedskous Art School, Göteborg, Sweden. She has been exhibiting her works in solo shows in Sweden as well as in several group exhibitions in Philadelphia and Massachusetts.
Wikander collects cross-stitch embroideries from flea markets and vintage stores. In 2012 she started using these embroideries to cover household objects from the 70s to transforms them into recycled, contemporary display pieces. By combining these old items and embroideries, both are given a new existence in a completely new context.
