Paula Nightingale attended Beckenham School of Art and Royal College of Art, where she was awarded 1st Class Hons. She won a scholarship at Akademie der Bildenden Kunst in Munich, Germany. There, she started studying etching techniques with Ernst Geitlinger. Her next scholarship in France focused on landscape painting, which has been a big influence in her career.
Her works were featured in the TV series 'Coastal Inspirations' and shown at V&A Museum Mercury Gallery as well as New Grafton Gallery.
Nightingale's style belongs to Impressionism; her expertise mainly in Pencil, Oils, Oil pastels, Pen & Ink, Printmaking, Pen & Wash, Watercolour and Drawing. It is her gentle use of light and colour, the mood of the painting and choice of subject that establishes a familiarity with the audience.
