April Jackson is a recent graduate from the University of Chichester, UK. She has held three Artist Residencies and was a Shortlist Artist for the NOA Summer Exhibition in 2016.
Jackson works in series, developing a pictorial language specific to process and materiality. Her practice is fed from a multitude of preliminary work; producing small scale paintings, pastels, photography and print making.
As a painter and print maker, her current endeavor relies on the process of pouring, soaking and staining the canvas, creating abstract forms that interrelate and communicate. They investigate binary oppositions, the thresholds between paint and surface, form and fluidity and the autonomy of painting.
